Production Technician

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Monitor all process operating parameters and utility infrastructure operations, such as chemicals batching, stocking consumables, and pumping.
• Operate and maintain equipment associated with the biodiesel process, including reactors, distillation units, separators, and drying systems.
• Safely manage the loading and unloading of finished products and chemicals.
• Utilize computerized and controlled systems to monitor and adjust operations, ensuring compliance with department requirements.
• Conduct process control testing and record values using lab equipment and computer spreadsheets.
• Interface with computer terminals and control rooms to monitor plant functions and ensure smooth operations.
• Regularly monitor various processing parameters and take readings from machinery throughout the plant.
• Make process adjustments as needed to maintain critical product specifications based on current operating conditions.
• Carry out all manufacturing operations, including large-scale chemical reactions, distillation, centrifuging, and vacuum-drying.
• Operate manual and automatic production equipment, including pumps, valves, centrifuges, dryers, and evaporators.
• Complete start-up and shut-down procedures/checklists as assigned.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to safety guidelines regulated by W2Fuel LLC, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Perform weekly, monthly, and yearly equipment checklists to ensure optimal functioning.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and foster a positive and supportive work environment.
• Adapt to and manage change effectively to meet production demands.
• Possess a valid driver's license or have reliable transportation.
• Physical presence at the facility is required during the substantial majority of the working time.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Core Competencies:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to use and understand calculations, production rates, and fluid inventories.
• Excellent ability to follow directions and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently without constant supervision.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Adaptable and able to manage change effectively.
• Must possess a valid driver's license or have other reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Frequent walking, standing, and bending.
• Willingness to work with required chemicals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
