Responsibilities/Duties:
- Monitor all process operating parameters and utility infrastructure operations, such as chemicals batching, stocking consumables, and pumping.
- Operate and maintain equipment associated with the biodiesel process, including reactors, distillation units, separators, and drying systems.
- Safely manage the loading and unloading of finished products and chemicals.
- Utilize computerized and controlled systems to monitor and adjust operations, ensuring compliance with department requirements.
- Conduct process control testing and record values using lab equipment and computer spreadsheets.
- Interface with computer terminals and control rooms to monitor plant functions and ensure smooth operations.
- Regularly monitor various processing parameters and take readings from machinery throughout the plant.
- Make process adjustments as needed to maintain critical product specifications based on current operating conditions.
- Carry out all manufacturing operations, including large-scale chemical reactions, distillation, centrifuging, and vacuum-drying.
- Operate manual and automatic production equipment, including pumps, valves, centrifuges, dryers, and evaporators.
- Complete start-up and shut-down procedures/checklists as assigned.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to safety guidelines regulated by W2Fuel LLC, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Perform weekly, monthly, and yearly equipment checklists to ensure optimal functioning.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and foster a positive and supportive work environment.
- Adapt to and manage change effectively to meet production demands.
- Possess a valid driver's license or have reliable transportation.
- Physical presence at the facility is required during the substantial majority of the working time.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Core Competencies:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to use and understand calculations, production rates, and fluid inventories.
- Excellent ability to follow directions and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently without constant supervision.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Adaptable and able to manage change effectively.
- Must possess a valid driver's license or have other reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Frequent walking, standing, and bending.
- Willingness to work with required chemicals.
