successful candidate will play a critical role in securing necessary permits for various client projects,
ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role involves working closely with
project managers, engineers, clients, and regulatory agencies to navigate the permitting process
efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Permit Acquisition
- Research and identify necessary permits and approvals required for various civil
Army Corp. of Engineers, Special Permits (Zoning Board of Appeals/ZBA), and Planning
Board applications.
- Prepare and submit permit applications to relevant local, state, and federal agencies, e.g.
- Track the status of submitted permit applications and follow up with agencies as needed
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all projects comply with applicable environmental, zoning, and construction
- Conduct thorough reviews of regulatory requirements and communicate necessary
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in relevant laws and regulations.
- Attend public hearings to present projects for the Owner/Applicant.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Compile and maintain comprehensive records of all permits, approvals, and related
- Prepare detailed reports on the status of permits and compliance activities for internal
- Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the firm, our clients, and regulatory
- Coordinate meetings and consultations with regulatory officials, project managers,
- Address inquiries and concerns from regulatory agencies and ensure prompt resolution
- Training and Best Practices
- Provide training and guidance to project teams on permitting requirements and best
- Develop and implement internal procedures for efficient permit management and
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Wetlands Biology, Civil Engineering,
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in permitting, regulatory compliance, or a related role
- Wetlands Delineation abilities and experience a plus!
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting processes and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with online permitting submissions and
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with GIS and related software for data analysis and mapping.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
