Job Responsibilities/Duties
Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) is the tank farm operating contractor at the Hanford Site located in Richland, WA. The WRPS mission is to safely store, retrieve, and treat 56 million gallons of legacy radioactive and hazardous waste. This complex mission spans all competencies of engineering/science accomplished through a highly integrated organization engineering organization. WRPS was identified as "One of America's Safest Companies" in 2020; and was the recipient of the 2021 "Employer of the Year" by the Association of Washington Businesses.
We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Specialist to join our HR Field Operations Team and play a pivotal role in maintaining a positive work environment while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. As a HR Specialist, Field Operations, you will be responsible for participating in thorough and impartial investigations into employee related matters as well as HR operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in prompt, confidential, and unbiased investigations into employee concerns, complaints, and alleged policy violations.
Compile evidence, participate in interviewing involved parties and assist in preparing detailed investigation reports.
Assist in daily HR operations.
Assist in the development and/or enhancement of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Establishes HR operations support programs for individual WRPS organizations in such areas as employee communication, constructive discipline, and professional development.
Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR-related matters, fostering a positive and respectful work environment.
Partner with HR team members to support a variety of HR initiatives and projects.
Required Qualifications
Grade 15:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Human Resources or related discipline; with
Three (3) years related experience or a combination of education and/or experience
Grade 16:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Human Resources or related discipline; with
Five (5) years related experience or a combination of education and/or experience
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Grade 17:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Human Resources or related discipline; with
Six (6) years related experience or a combination of education and/or experience
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience drafting legal documents/reports
Previous experience in the legal industry
SHRM-CP, PHR or related HR certification

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
