Position Summary:

At Wabasso Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Recreational Aides are valuable members of our team. They provide regular contact with the residents through individual and group activities. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the department in providing programming that meets the intellectual, emotional, and social needs of the residents. Come to work in a fun environment!


Essential Responsibilities

  • Establish a functional Life Enrichment Program with a therapeutic approach.
  • Promote, plan, and carry out full recreation programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate resident response to program inclusion and resident safety.
  • Interface with other team members towards comprehensive resident care.
  • Monitor all documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain supply inventory.
  • Supervise volunteers.
  • Display oneself in an energetic manner that attracts residents to participate in the Life Enrichment Program.
  • Overcome and adapt to challenges whenever they arise.
  • Develop a curriculum based on the needs of the resident and perform 1:1s with those requiring additional support.

Activity Aide Requirements

  • A desire to take care of others
  • A caring demeanor and positive attitude
  • The motivation to get tasks completed timely and efficiently- prior experience is a plus
  • Oral and Written English Communication Skills
  • A teamwork attitude
