Summary Statement: Oversee daily production of employees. Ensure that productivity, specs are maintained. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Schedule Production orders Create and maintain Spec’s and SOP’s Requisition necessary raw materials and supplies as needed Schedule and monitor production of products to meet demand Manage all inventory levels, scrap, efficiency, on time delivery, corrective actions, labor and department housekeeping Manage workforce, including staffing levels, Workday. employee evaluations and performance, team meetings, ensure compliance with company policies, SOP’s safety rules Budget and Maintain Departmental expenses Coordinates Activities at both shipping/receiving departments Monitor and maintain all Kaizens in the Department to ensure goals are achieved and maintained Promote and maintain quality assurance procedures and guidelines Observe all production and machinery for potential safety hazards and breakdowns Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises Lead operators and manufacturing personnel. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.Use appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns.Responsibilities include participating in the interviewing and hiring process; training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications/Special Skills and Abilities Overall knowledge of manufacturing processes. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the company Excellent written and oral communication skills Basic computer and keyboarding skills Develop relationships, manage expectations and communicate on a formal and informal basis with corporate senior executive and customers. Knowledge of Lean systems, Oracle Ability to work within deadlines and work independently Excellent attention to detail Education and Experience High School Diploma/GED required 3-5 years of leadership experience preferred 3-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred Wabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world’s toughest challenges.
