Job Summary:

Support testing of safety-critical applications for Wabtec Railway Electronics (WRE), the leading supplier of technology-based products and services for the rail and transit industries, by creation of a fully-functional model for multiple locomotive and EMU/DMU types.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

• System modeling in NI LabVIEW to capture relevant physical attributes of vehicles, simulation of signal inputs and outputs, emulation of vehicle acceleration and braking, and LabVIEW model user-interface in support of manual and scripted execution.
• Programming knowledge in the Linux and/or Microsoft Windows environments, using languages such as C, C++, C#, or Java, plus Python
• Participate in coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting software
• Write code that is readable, maintainable, extensible, and correct
• Work independently and within a team to develop solutions that meet project requirements within the program schedule and budget constraints
• Make independent technical contributions in support of program objectives, as well as interacting with other Wabtec or contract software, test, and systems engineers

Qualifications:

• Near term or nearly complete BS in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, or Software Engineering / Computer Science
• Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely
• High degree of attention to detail
• Self-driven, results-oriented and a clear focus on high quality
• Self motivated; bias for action
• Any related work experience a plus
