Covenant Employment Services (CES)  is a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist individuals with disabilities to increase independence by overcoming work-related barriers. We are seeking to hire an Employment Specialist in Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas of the valley who will assist in the development and implementation of the Ticket to Work Program (TTW). Ticket to Work (TTW) is a free benefit of the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program. It acts as a safety net that protects SSDI benefits as a person tries to return to work after being on disability. The chosen candidate will monitor client progress and client earnings, and maintain constant contact with clients to ensure quality services are being provided and employment outcomes are being reached. They will also carry a caseload and continue all duties of an Employment Specialist.

SCHEDULE:

Part-time (15-28 hours) with a flexible schedule (in between the hours of M-F 9-5 and/or weekends).

Starting pay is $20.00-21.00 per hour, potentially increasing after additional training.

The ideal candidates would be self-starters, extremely organized, can pay close attention to detail, and will maintain a working knowledge of the needs of each assigned customer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Complete client intakes, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Maintain an active caseload with regularly scheduled appointments with professionals and community partners.
  • Teach job searching and job development techniques to all clients.
  • Assist individuals with resume and cover letter writing as well as interview skills before and during job searching.
  • Assist clients in tracking job applications, interviews, and follow-up times with potential employers.
  • Provide instruction and training on a variety of issues and skills related to employment. This could include but is not limited to nutrition, hygiene and health needs, appropriate social interactions, and transportation.
  • Find and obtain employment for all assigned clients promptly.
  • Assist the client in obtaining any support needed to maintain employment.
  • Assist the management team in developing and implementing procedures, guidelines, and forms for the program.
  • Assist in monthly billing of program participants.
  • Assist supervisor in maintaining caseload spreadsheet to track program information.
  • Continually seek out new ways to promote the company as a whole including making presentations, attending community events, and building work relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree in Human Services or Marketing field preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months previous experience working with adults with disabilities.
  • Valid Utah driver's license.
  • Clean driving record (no major violations, 2 or fewer minor traffic violations).
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred experience - but we will pay for training if you don’t have this experience:
  • ACRE Certification.
  • First Aid & CPR Training.
  • ADEN Core Training.
