What you will do:
This position performs a variety of electrical and automation engineering work to maintain and continuously improve the performance of multiple chemical production units and related auxiliary systems in our fumed silica department (HDK). This position provides engineering and technical services to Operations and additional service units in order to assure safe operations, regulatory compliance, and to maximize the availability and efficiency of these units.
- Support and closely cooperate with fellow Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) Engineering counterparts in assuring safe operating conditions and regulatory compliance of production units
- Maximize the availability of production units at required capacity and quality
- Support and maintain instrumentation and automation for the production units
- Consult and support capital projects executed by project engineering
- Support process and technology transfer between WACKER HDK production sites
- Support engineering team on capital invest and expense type projects within area of responsibility
- Conduct or coordinate debottlenecking and troubleshooting activities
- Become an expert capable of exercising Electrical & Instrumentation engineering judgement with respect to the process areas of responsibility and assigned subject matters
- Drive and support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost
- Support development of specifications, standards, and codes
- Develop and support preventative maintenance plans such as ITPMs
- Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering and Maintenance teams, within Operations, and other service units with focus on achieving optimal results and solutions from a corporate enterprise perspective
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Computer Science Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of electrical engineering experience
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering
- Thorough technical knowledge in the field of electrical or instrumentation engineering including relevant regulations, standards, and codes
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and construction practices
- Objective judgement and fact-based decision-making approach
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams
- Strong multitasking competency
- Ability to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure
- Team player attitude
- Capability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements
- Preferred, but not required: knowledge of Siemens Drives/PLC, Delta V and E&H Instrumentation and automation
- Must be physically fit to wear an air purifying respirator if necessary
