What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Wacker?

WACKER SILICONES is one of the world’s biggest silicone manufacturers with silicone-based system solutions and over 3,000 different products. At our Adrian site, we are currently looking for a(n) Lab Technician to join our growing team.
Purpose
The Lab Technician is responsible for performing timely and accurate QA testing of elastomer materials using physical analytical techniques. This Lab Technician must participate in correlation testing with customers or other sites, as well as, measurement system analysis. Verification and basic maintenance of analytical equipment while maintaining a clean, orderly and properly stocked laboratory is required.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs required QA testing according to established inspection plans and enters/communicates results in a timely manner.
- Verifies and maintains analytical equipment according to established schedules, including qualifications.
- Ensures a clean and orderly lab which includes stocking supplies, as well as, storage of retain samples.
- Assists in updating lab procedures, customer complaint investigations and process improvement projects.
Qualifications Requried
- High School Diploma required.
- Associates Degree in Science, preferred. Bachelors Degree in Science, preferred.
- Minimum 6 months relevant experience.
- Knowledge of chemical laboratory testing and safety practices.
- Problem solving and trouble shooting,
- Basic statistics.
- Strong communication skills, written & verbal.
- Self motivated; ability to work independently.
- Basic computer skills.
- Preferred knowledge of SAP and/or Quality Assurance.
- Work environment: Laboratory setting.
