What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Assistant position at WaFd Bank?
This role supports loan origination processes for a commissioned loan officer (Mortgage Banker), or certain designated "high volume" Retail branches with the permission of a Regional President.
A Loan Assistant must reflect the corporate values and ethics of WaFd Bank and exhibit success in the following areas: sales effectiveness and a focus on loan production; helping market WaFd Bank in the broader community; providing a high quality customer experience; building and maintaining productive relationships within WaFd, with new and existing clients, Realtors, builders, brokers and title companies; registering and maintaining active status with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLSR); supporting the origination efforts of their assigned Mortgage Banker as well as a referring Branch Manager. Requirements:Education/Skills/Training:
High school diploma or approved equivalent; basic algebra and math skills, 10-key and keyboarding, standard Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word and Outlook, along with smart phone and digital channel skills. Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills and superior written and oral communication skills. Candidates must meet all requirements of NML Registry.
Experience:
Prior banking experience, including familiarity with lending; and previous work in retail, consumer service delivery, or client relations.
