Under direct supervision, the Class B Welder is responsible for making sound structural repairs with all welds neat in appearance or ground off flush in a manner that reflects the company’s vision of working as “One Professional Team.”
Pay rate: $22.05 - $44.10 per hour
Pay is dependent upon education & experience.
Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
- Prepares inspection reports
- Inspects structural condition of equipment
- With some assistance, removes and installs components and parts to make necessary repairs
- With some assistance, reconditions or fabricates components or parts to manufacturer’s specifications
- With some assistance, determines reusability of parts in accordance with published guidelines
- Orders replacement parts
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of welding experience, preferably in the heavy equipment industry
Physical Demands & Competencies:
- Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc.
- Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 85 pounds or more
- Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
- Safety & Product Knowledge
- Ability to search for and enter data into a computer
- Ability to type service reports
Work Environment:
- Noise: Loud
- Indoors and Outdoors
