The job overview
We’re seeking a full-time financial analyst to prepare and analyze our company’s financial performance, key operating metrics, projections and return on investment analysis. We are a fast growing, multi-brand restaurant chain developer and operator servicing high-end fine dining and brand-focused premium casual restaurant chains. This role would report to the CFO and is based at our corporate headquarters in Lehi.
Job responsibilities
Some of the financial analyst’s job responsibilities include:
- Evaluate current and past financial reports (balance sheet, profit and loss, cashflow) and other financial data, including preparing weekly and monthly internal reporting along with quarterly investor and franchise reports
- Define KPI’s along with building and automating reporting around them including identifying key trends both positive and opportunities for improvement
- Provide rolling monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and forecasts based on current market conditions and competitive analysis
- Assist with developing forecasts including break-even and ROI analysis for new store locations and/or concepts, including construction, pre-launch and store opening expenses and ongoing operations
- Prepare monthly schedules and record journal entries
- Prepare other ad-hoc projects and analysis as assigned by CFO and owners
Job qualifications
Some of the financial analyst’s job qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or graduating within the next year
- Strong analytical, pattern recognition, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and PowerPoint, including complex formulas and pivot tables
- Ability to develop financial models, including cashflow projections and break-even analysis and recommend improvement action plans
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask
- An agile self-starter who thrives in an every-changing work environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate financial analysis results to both financial and non-financial audiences
- Prior experience in an accounting, financial analyst, or related role and/or franchise experience a plus
