Pay: $21.50 per hour, depending on expereince
Job Summary
Support Manufacturing Engineering, Production, NC Programming, R&D, and other Wagstaff business units by setting up cutting tools for CNC machine tools and other workcenters according to the production schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support existing and proven machining practices
- Maintain tooling, consumables, tool room inventory and tool database
- Help maintain an organized, clean and safe working environment
- Coordinate tool testing with suppliers under the direction of Manufacturing Engineering and/or senior tool setup personnel
- Follow documented processes, maintain accurate paperwork and maintain accurate information in electronic business systems
- Keep personal work area and tool room machinery clean
- Cross train on other machines and workcenters as required
- Shift work may be required to support production needs and work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be periodically required
- Utilize critical thinking to identify product/process improvements and participate with co-workers to implement these improvements
- Maintain punctual attendance
- Abide by company policies
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years machining or similar shop experience.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and blueprints
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Basic measurement skills
- Basic computer skills
Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, machinery and equipment, and vibration. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. While performing some job duties, there is a risk of electrical shock and other risks associated with a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the working environment is often loud. Because of this environment and associated risks, use of job appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing is required.
