Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for providing professional services which may include assessing, planning, communicating, implementing and evaluating the level of care delivered to patients. Considers age related needs in the planning and delivery of patient care. Acts in accordance with the Hospitals Corporate Compliance Program. Responsible for coordinating clinical care of the patient and implementing nursing procedures. Integrates all care providers into the plan of care to ensure quality patient/family outcomes. May be responsible for the supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Certified Nurses Aide (CNA), or other ancillary personnel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, initiation and development of the plan of care, patient/family education, utilization management and discharge planning. Follows hospital policies and procedures.

- Assures equipment is properly maintained, clean, and in working order
- Precepts new employees
- Assists with staffing of department and notifies manager/supervisor of any changes
- Performs other related duties as needed and assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program, Diploma or Associate Degree. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Licensure: Registered Nurse, State of Hawaii
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association, must be able to physically perform CPR.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with members of the health care team.
- Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to plan and provide care appropriate to the age and special needs of patient served.
- Passing score on the pre-hire medication exam.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Employment is subject to being completely vaccinated or having a WGH approved COVID-19 Vaccine Exemption prior to providing services for the facility.
Six (6) months experience as a registered nurse in an acute care facility within the past twelve (12) months preferred; however, new graduates may be considered for the preceptor program on a limited basis. Minimum one (1) year RN experience caring for Telemetry patients. Demonstrated competency of dysrhythmia recognition by successfully passing a Cardia Dysrhythmia Identification exam. Current American Heart Association ACLS certification required. National Certificate in Medical/Surgical nursing highly desirable.

- Occasional to frequent: squatting, twisting
- Occasional: pushing and pulling up to 70 psi; lifting; horizontal lift/carry up to 75 lbs., with assistance, floor to waist up to 35 lbs., waist to shoulder up to 25 lbs., overheard level up to 15 lbs.; carrying up to 35 lbs., running, climbing, side bending, kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching. Operates various machines/tools/work aids.
