What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at WAI?
POSITION SUMMARY
The individual in this role will oversee the maintenance team and is responsible for coordinating the repairs of manufacturing equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), painting, and other building systems to ensure reliability, availability and safety of equipment and systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department
- Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed
- Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules
- Develops maintenance procedures and schedules
- Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner
- Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects
- Selects, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, and disciplines associates in coordination with the Human Resources Department
- Promote a collaborative work environment, encouraging effective communication and cross-training initiatives to enhance team productivity, versatility, and skill development
- Comply with comprehensive safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and provide ongoing training to ensure a secure work environment, fostering a safety-conscious culture among staff
- Maintain a systematic approach to 5S principles, enforcing standards for cleanliness and organization, conducting inspections, and providing training to optimize workflow, efficiency, and a clean work environment
- Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required
- 3 years related of experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in using ERP or Distribution Systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
- Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed
- Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems
- Mechanically inclined with excellent problem-solving skills
- Organized with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment
- Thorough understanding of electronics principles and design
- Detail-oriented and organized
