Position Overview
- The Maintenance Supervisor (Overnight) will oversee all Maintenance Technicians in the Production Facility. This role will be responsible for facilitation and leadership to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve process and packaging equipment, to maximize production and maintain Waiakea’s high standards in safety and quality. This role will also be engaged in improving maintenance procedures and manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture.
Schedule:
The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor is a full-time position. Waiakea Inc. is currently hiring for overnight positions that work with our 24/7 Production schedule.
Shift Differentials will be paid as outlined below:
Daytime shift receives an additional 5% hourly wage differential
Overnight shift receives an additional 10% hourly wage differential

Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee a small team of Maintenance Technicians
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on equipment.
- Demonstrate troubleshooting capabilities on control systems, servo drives, motors, HMIs, and PLCs on complex high-speed packaging lines.
- Perform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks as necessary, but routinely in cases requiring advanced technical expertise
- Review documentation for maintenance activity using the maintenance database, adequately communicate maintenance issues to appropriate employees (e.g., other maintenance techs, operators, engineers, supervisors, etc.), and properly utilize the maintenance inventory system.
- Repair and maintain items necessary to maintain equipment in optimum operating condition
- Lead process improvement initiatives in assigned areas by analyzing equipment maintenance history, identifying significant causes of waste, coordinating with appropriate employees to develop root cause analysis (RCA), and providing maintenance assistance as necessary.
- Assist in the day-to-day support of operators for adjustments, setups, and changeovers
- Assist other maintenance technicians as required
- Work with engineers and vendors on special projects
- Use machine tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices to modify machinery as needed
- Will assist in training and coaching others on best practices
- Assist with training of maintenance technicians
- Assist with scheduling
- Help conduct interviews for new maintenance technicians
- Monthly assessments of maintenance technicians
Requirements
- Ability to read, understand, & follow complex instructions, prints, & schematics
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to positively cooperate & communicate with coworkers, contractors, & management in a team environment
- Able to work on ladders & lifts (as applicable & recommended) up to heights of 40 feet
- Ability to wear OSHA-approved personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Complies with all standard safety practices, safety rules, good manufacturing practices and all other company rules and requirements.
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to comprehend basic verbal and written instructions
- Ability to distinguish and identify different products by reading labels
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/ GED required or equivalent years of experience in an automated or semi-automated packing environment preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance required, 5 years preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience of supervisor-level (or higher) experience required
- 3 years’ experience maintaining, troubleshooting, & repairing mechanical & electrical/controls/PLC modules and components
- Experience with variable speed & servo drive programming & function (prefer Allen-Bradley) preferred
- Experience with robotic control systems (prefer Allen Bradley or Fanuc) preferred
