The Position:
Under the direction of the Sr. Safety Manager, the Safety Coordinator will be a leader in the deployment of continuous improvement within programs and systems that support health and safety excellence with in our Walbec Group family of companies.
- Primary focus is to uphold OSHA, MSHA, Company, Site Specific safety standards and programs on job site
- Be a leader and role model for safety
- Be willing and able to perform weekly safety meetings in front of large crowds
- Able to train employees on various tasks
- Be involved in incident investigations and complete necessary incident forms
- Responsible for overseeing sub-contractor safety
- Be on sites/in the field 80 to 90 percent of the time
- Attend, Facilitate, and Organize daily & weekly safety meetings
- Conduct and Facilitate and Weekly safety inspections
- Conduct, organize, and schedule site visits and audits
- Provide Safety Policy guidance and interpretation to field when appropriate
- Ensure countermeasures are properly identified to prevent reoccurrence by utilizing a robust incident investigation process
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the Safety Team to develop solutions, programs, and policies
- Maintain Safety Information System records and compile reports from database
- Other duties as assigned

The Location:
- This position will support all locations in the surrounding area of Southeast, WI. Projects will vary by location throughout the local area, or the state, so reliable transportation and/or a willingness to travel to any job site is required as needed.
The Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or equivalent
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations
- OSHA 500 certification
- Knowledge of OSHA 1910 & 1926 and MSHA Part 46 rules and regulations
- First Aid/CPR certified
- Must possess a theoretical and practical knowledge of regulatory standards
- Must have exceptional skills in building interpersonal relationships, including a high degree of judgment, diplomacy, and ability to influence others
- Valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record
Preferred Skills/Knowledge:
- Self-directed and motivated
- Ability to drive decision making process to conclusions/solutions
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels
- Demonstrated knowledge of all other applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations
Preferred Certifications:
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
- CMSP (Certified Mine Safety Professional) preferred
