Your Opportunity:
Walden Biosciences’ mission is to transform the treatment of kidney disease by reversing its progression and enabling and inspiring patients to resume their normal lives.
As a key member of our Pharmacology team, the Scientist is responsible for all aspects of running in vivo pharmacology studies including: protocol generation, study execution, sample preparation and analysis, oversight of outsourced studies, and data analysis and presentation. She/he will also be involved in maintaining colonies of genetically engineered models and development of relevant new disease models for our small molecule and antibody programs.
Responsibilities:
- Design, execution, and oversight of pharmacology studies to evaluate efficacy, PK/PD, tolerability and biodistribution of novel small molecule and biologics, including data analysis and presentation
- Development of methods for processing and analysis of tissue, blood, and urine samples
- Management of breeding colonies of genetically engineered models and development of new models
- Oversight of outsourced activities including in vivo studies and analytical methods/reagent development
Qualifications:
- PhD (in pharmacology/biology/biochemistry or other relevant discipline) with up to 2 years’ experience or BS/MS with 6 years of industry experience
- Hands on experience with animal models and multiple routes of compound administration (IV, IM, SC, PO) as well as tissue/blood collection required. Model development experience is desirable
- Laboratory experience with assay development, ELISA, MSD, PCR, molecular biology, cell culture preferred
- Experience in characterization of monoclonal antibody therapeutics preferred, including binding affinities, analysis of effector function, PK/PD modeling and dose prediction
