The Waldorf University Athletics Department is seeking a Men’s and Women’s Assistant Track Coach with a focus on Sprints.
This is a 10-month full-time position with appointment beginning August 1st, 2024. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to the mission of Waldorf University and be committed to the development of the student-athlete physically, mentally, spiritually and morally.
Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in the overall administration of the program including, but not limited to, compliance with all NAIA, Great Plains Athletic Conference, and institutional regulations, adherence to the standards of the university, recruitment of qualified student-athletes, budget management, academic support, scheduling, practice organization and instruction, meet management, fundraising, and auxiliary game management duties.
Strong recruiting, communication and organizational skills are all required. Personal conduct must exemplify the highest standards of the profession.
Selected candidate will represent both programs and the university in a positive manner. This includes being a positive role model with appropriate behavior while fulfilling job duties and in the community.

Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, minimum of two to five years coaching experience preferably at the collegiate level and two to four years of college competing experience. Required Qualifications :
A commitment to absolute integrity, values, high sense of ethics and morals and expectations of Waldorf University is critical and required;
compliance with all NAIA, GPAC, and institutional rules and regulations at all times.
- Successful fulfillment of track coaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to : strong organizational, communication and leadership skills;
- proven ability to recruit quality track student-athletes; instruction of associated skill sets, fundamentals, coaching skills and psychological skills training;
- plan practice sessions and help with meet preparation, including team travel arrangements; assess and evaluate talent of current athletes;
- meet administration; mentoring and retaining student-athletes; assist head coach with monitoring annual sport budgets (fiscal responsibility);
fundraising; organize and manage camps and clinics and any other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Candidate must be able to work as a team member, be self-directed and willing to serve as a goodwill ambassador for Waldorf Athletics.
Candidates also must possess experience working with diverse students and staff. Additionally, the candidate must have the ability to organize and motivate student-athletes to maximum performance level in sports and academic achievements.
- Contribute to department through athletic department game management, active participation in meetings, and any other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and / or Athletic Director
- Work is performed during regular work hours, but will require frequent evening and weekend hours, including travel. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
