Summary of Position:
AEL is responsible for providing inbound-to-plant logistics services Cummins Rocky Mount Engine Plant.
The Sequencing Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely picking/sequencing of materials. We are looking for the right person who shares our philosophy of Operational Excellence on a daily basis. AEL-SPAN’s primary objective is to deliver the right part, to the right place, at the right time.
Core Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure all orders are sequenced in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prioritize orders based on customer’s needs.
- Locate parts, including received parts, put-away parts, and parts that are not yet received, so as to support emergency situations and avoid interruptions and shutdown of production lines.
- Achieve customer satisfaction with an error/defect free service
- Adhere to customer requirements related to all warehouse processes.
- Coordinate sequencing team members and activities.
- Be present on the floor to give guidance and feedback to the team. Identify problems and work with the team for resolution. Follow up and close open items in a timely manner.
- Communicate closely with the admin team regarding any operations concerns.
- Proactively communicate and escalate any ‘defects’ and other situations in the warehouse that could potentially have minor or major impacts.
- Prepare and send out daily/weekly/monthly KPI tracking.
- Check customer portals and enter data as needed.
- Keep updated information on communication boards and visual aids in the work area.
- Manage inventory accuracy at the highest levels. Understand and enforce adherence to product handling procedures, especially in regard to product identification and physical and system location procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledgeable of 5S and Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; experienced and well-spoken in front of customers and large groups.
- Ability to deal with and communicate effectively with a diverse team of individuals from various backgrounds, at all organizational levels.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically, or through other means, to individuals and groups.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma, or GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, is required
- Ability to understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace; read, understand, and communicate all safety requirements and cautions, as well as all operational procedures
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend English
- Must have the ability to lift up to 35lbs
