What you'll do...

The Director, Security, will support the world's biggest retailer by leading a group of subject matter experts, focused on responding to insider threats and threats of violence. The right person will have a track record of establishing best practices, monitoring security technology capabilities, and working collaboratively to leverage internal and external partnerships and networks, to maximize the achievement of business goals. You will be joining an incredible team and working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role is client facing, and reports directly to the Senior Director II, Security. We are looking for a polished professional, with strong presentation skills.

You will make an impact by:

Leading and managing teams responsible for installing, and servicing security and alarm technology in various company facilities to support safety and security efforts.

Possess the ability to identify and work with contractors supporting new/ongoing construction projects. Proficient at maintaining inventory, and internal technology resources while integrating external resources to effectively meet established timelines to complete projects without disruptions or delays to the business. This leader will need to be collaborative, innovative, and cooperative with peers, business units and contractors to successfully support business operations.

Drives expansion of the insider threat data management program by assisting in the development of company response initiatives related to insider threat activity; establishing metrics and program guidebook; identifying and proposing new ways to use technology through systems enhancements and expanding the current collection process.

Leads a group of subject matter experts focused on responding to insider threats and threats of violence by establishing best practices and monitoring capabilities to identify high risk or at risk associates; leading efforts to mitigate future risks; developing data exfiltration program to mitigate risks; assessing and understanding areas of improvement and making necessary changes to handle threat management intake volumes; assessing risks and threats in individual markets and setting governance policies to mitigate risks; and establishing a minimum governance standard in markets based on scope and culture.

Provides recommendations and support to leadership in the development of strategic disaster response and recovery processes, global governance, and mitigation projects to reduce company losses and closure times by assisting in the development and implementation of procedures, forms, and global governance associated with hazard mitigation; ensuring compliance with applicable corporate policies and procedures, local, state, federal, and foreign laws and regulations, and regulatory agency directives; supporting collaborative working groups aimed at implementing mitigation measures; providing input on facility design to better prepare facilities for disaster resilience; and leading process improvement efforts to reduce store closure time.

Oversees team productivity and effectiveness by leveraging internal and external cross-functional relationships in order to minimize obstacles; collaborating across multiple countries in order to determine best practices; understanding current trends that affect the business and pose risks to business operations; reviewing productivity assessments to increase team effectiveness; demonstrating and communicating working knowledge of security industry legal standards, regulatory policies, trends, and best practices and procedures; and developing processes and procedures to ensure availability of appropriate products that meet customer needs and expectations.

Provides leadership, strategic input, and management of safety and security programs globally across business lines by providing training and guidance to all partners enterprise wide; conducting physical security assessments of facilities; collecting and analyzing data for vulnerability and threats; consulting operating personnel and security specialists; and communicating safety and security plans to senior management to devise protection systems that provide security to the organization's mission.

Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.

Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.

Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Risk Management, or related field and 5 years' experience in security, emergency management, risk management, law enforcement, fire service, or related area OR 7 years' experience in security, emergency management, risk management, law enforcement, fire service, or related area. 1 year's supervisory experience.
