Deli/Bakery Associate Role Description:
Maintains area of responsibility (for example, Fresh) by following company policies and procedures for preparing, handling, packaging, labeling, and storing food; operating and sanitizing food-related equipment; stocking and displaying/merchandising food products; maintaining and cleaning the area (for example, windows, mirrors, display cases, food-related equipment, and coolers) according to food safety and compliance regulations; and reporting issues or concerns to leadership as needed.
Provides customer service by identifying customer needs; recognizing and understanding customer traffic patterns; assisting with purchasing decisions; locating merchandise; providing product knowledge; resolving customer issues and concerns; promoting department products and services; and maintaining a safe shopping environment.
Prepares merchandise based on daily production needs by operating department equipment (for example, oven, fryer, slicers); preparing products based on customer specifications; ensuring merchandise is properly measured and stored; following formulas and baking instructions; following guidelines for wrapping, dating, labeling, and storing merchandise; and ensuring list of ingredients and sell-by dates are visible and accurate.
Meat/Produce Associate Role Description:
Receives, stocks, and organizes merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers throughout the facility by managing inventory flow; following company procedures; utilizing equipment appropriately; merchandising; working inventory exceptions; correcting shelf capacities; and completing and retaining required paperwork, logs, and other documentation.
Supports store operations by executing daily workload and processes; following One Best Way (OBW) standards and procedures; participating in team meetings to learn daily and weekly objectives; communicating with team leads to understand daily priorities; training with certified team associates to enhance and develop skills; and providing feedback concerning business area issues or needs.
Provides customer service by acknowledging the customer; identifying customer needs; assisting with purchasing decisions; providing product knowledge; locating merchandise; resolving customer issues and concerns; promoting products and services; operating equipment, such as cash registers and related tools, to process customer purchases using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold; maintaining a safe shopping environment; and appropriately representing and supporting the company's mission.
