Job Summary:
As a Seasonal Worker, you will assist wherever needed in the necessary department including, but not limited to, bindery and cover department. You will do various handwork functions according to company procedures and practices to ensure a quality product is produced in a safe and efficient manner. Employment will last approximately 3-4 weeks or as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Become proficient with assigned machinery.
- Read, understand and apply the written information pertaining to the job.
- Strive to meet or exceed departmental and company goals.
- Maintain accurate data.
- Adequately complete multiple handwork functions including, but not limited to, applying dust jackets, sorting books, and replacing end sheets.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to learn machinery as necessary for the position.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Stay active with frequent lifting, bending, and twisting.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.
- May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work overtime and weekend schedules as necessary.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older. High School Diploma not required.
