Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Psychiatry -- Bradenton, FL / Lakewood Ranch, FL

We are a psychiatric practice offering medication management, psychotherapy, and TMS on an outpatient, in-network basis. We are currently looking to fill a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner position in our Bradenton / Lakewood Ranch, FL office location. This role will provide you the opportunity to be mentored by our Medical Director, Dr. Griffith, a board-certified Psychiatrist, who has been practicing psychiatry for 30 years. We take great pride in providing quality mental healthcare in the St. Petersburg, Lakewood Ranch, Bradenton, and Clearwater areas of Florida. Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform initial psychiatric evaluations for new patients
  • Diagnose psychiatric illnesses
  • Perform medication management appointments
  • Prescribe psychiatric medications, where appropriate
  • Perform psychotherapy as needed during regular follow-up appointments
  • Telemedicine appointments, when appropriate
  • Electronic prescribing
  • Maintain a full patient schedule
  • Utilize proper medical diagnosis codes
  • Consult with supervising physician and/or medical director, as needed
  • Assist medical director and/or supervising physician with TMS mappings for patients
  • Complete all medical documentation and other ad hoc documentation on daily basis
  • Intra-day communication with support staff when questions arise regarding patient care
  • Complete annual continuing education requirements
  • Continually strive to keep updated on clinical knowledge and skills through consultation, formal and informal education, review of specialty-specific updated medical and pharmacologic literature for the benefit of patients under your direct care
  • Participate in clinical and medical meetings, as needed when approved by management
  • Follow all licensing and joint commission requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Masters or doctorate degree from an Accredited Registered Nursing Graduate School
  • Active Florida state license
  • Active Florida DEA registration
  • Completion of a Psychiatric Mental Health fellowship program
  • Credentialed for most insurance companies (already an approved medical provider on most insurance company panels)
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record software (Kareo/Tebra software experience preferred) and experience with other software applications related to the medical field preferred—such as e-prescribing software
  • Passion for Psychiatry Specialty

Pay: $95,000 - $115,000 per year, based on experience
