Job Goals:
- To assure that each assigned student is academically successful, behaviorally and socially appropriate, attends full school day regularly, achieves his/her documented academic goals, and demonstrates at least one full year of growth on standardized test measure

- To demonstrate leadership, initiative, cooperation and teamwork with colleagues, supervisor community stakeholders and parents in order to accomplish the school’s mission
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Educator Certificate
- Physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing required tasks and duties essential to the position
- Demonstrated knowledge, ability and commitment to students’ educational progress
Classroom Performance Responsibilities:
- Instruction
- Adhere to approved curriculum using effective teaching strategies and techniques and demonstrating current content knowledge and pedagogical expertise.
- Prepare lessons and instructional materials in advance.
- Submit weekly lesson plans.
- Maintain prompt and accurate daily attendance reports, grades, and other documentation as directed
- Conduct appropriate student evaluations daily, weekly, and end of grading periods and use the data to drive instructional decisions.
- Administer and supervise standardized testing.
- Submit all reports, grades and other data accurately and before the deadline.
- Participate in professional development activities on and off campus to support continued professional growth and improve instructional expertise.
- Demonstrate effective teaching techniques and implement effective strategies for individual learning styles and academic levels.
- Provide interesting, challenging, learning activities applicable to real-life situations and appropriate for student’s performance and age level.
- Classroom Climate
- Maintain appropriate and effective classroom discipline.
- Respond to student misbehavior appropriately and in a manner which respects the student’s dignity.
- Maintain a positive, supportive classroom environment where students feel safe, secure, and supported.
- Maintain contact with student’s family/guardians-hold conferences as appropriate.
- Supervise students on arrival, breaks, departure, at all times.
- Serve as a positive role model for dress, language and behavior with students.
- Communication
- Notify parents of academic/behavioral progress at regular intervals throughout each grading period.
- Notify student’s parents/guardians when student is habitually absent.
- Communicate professionally at all times, be respectful and maintain student’s dignity.
- Other
- Submit written requests for supplies and equipment.
- Participate in faculty meetings, staff development activities, school functions & duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administrator
Responsibilities as a Professional Employee:
- Maintain professional personal appearance
- Follow provisions of Employee Manual, Florida Code of Ethics, District Code of Conduct and Progress Plan for students, School Plan for Health and Safety and other policies/procedures
- Attend workshops/training as appropriate to enhance performance of duties
- Seek advice when necessary to make appropriate decisions; Use school resources prudently
- Evaluate problems objectively and identify appropriate solutions; Contribute to resolution of conflicts
- Be flexible and adapt to changes in order to accomplish the mission of the school
- Work and plan with colleagues for mutual learning, planning, use of resources
- Foster positive teamwork with colleagues
- Accept and follow instructions/direction consistently and without delay
- Be prompt, report to work on time, and remain for the total workday
Working Conditions:
- The School Year for this Position is 10 Months-including Holidays
- Additional conditions or benefits may be documented in the individual’s Offer of Employment
- School Calendar is consistent with the sponsoring district or approved by the school’s Board of Directors via contractual arrangement.
- Employment is at-will. This means that either party may terminate employment at any time during the period of appointment without cause or prior notice. In the event of termination by either party prior to the completion of the school year, remuneration shall be based on specific services provided and payment will be made accordingly.
- Binding arbitration is the sole method of resolving employment disputes not resolved informally
- The Performance Appraisal/Evaluation System adopted by the sponsoring district shall be fully implemented with this position.
- The teacher is solely responsible for assuring the appropriate credentials are submitted to be classified as a Highly Qualified teacher in the sponsoring district and State of Florida.

Pay: $47,500.00 - $53,936.35 per year
