Accounting Clerk
General Responsibilities:
Based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), perform a variety of tasks related to the work performed in support of the Walton Board of County Commissioners, Clerk of Courts & County Comptroller, and Supervisor of Elections in the following functions: accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
Education and Experience Requirements:
· Graduation from an accredited high school, or possession of an equivalency diploma.
· Experience in a related field is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
· Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
· Knowledge of modern office methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
· Skill to operate with appropriate speed and accuracy a variety of standard office business equipment including, but not limited to, a computer, printer, telephone, calculator, copier, scanner, and fax machine.
· Ability to type at least 25 correct words per minute.
· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
· Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
· After a reasonable training period, ability to perform duties with little supervision.
Hourly Rate: $16.32
