Wanderu is the leading ground travel search in North America and soon the rest of the world. What we’re looking for:

  • You’re passionate about shaping and executing a marketing strategy that acquires millions of consumers across many different countries and channels.
  • You have recruited and managed rapidly growing marketing teams.
  • You are excited to create high-level strategy as well as jump in and execute the marketing campaigns along with your team.
  • You are data-driven and focus on defining KPIs, designing analytics, performing data analysis and setting up ideas to test.
  • You believe in ROI-based growth marketing and value the importance of ensuring campaigns are ROI positive and contribute to the bottom line.
  • You have senior experience leading marketing efforts in two sided marketplaces or similar ecommerce business which acquire users on a very large scale, market a large inventory of products which monetize at medium to low margins.
  • You excel at collaboration and communication to be able to work with tech, design and product teams to explain your vision, define marketing goals and create product specs that take advantage of a fast-moving, iteration-focused environment.
  • You invest in learning the latest marketing trends through constant education, and networking.
  • You have excellent working knowledge of organic search marketing, paid search marketing, email marketing, brand building, public relations and other means of data driven performance marketing.
  • You have led cross functional teams. You excel at using data and user research at identifying opportunities, developing go to market plans and managing the execution across functional domains.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Recruit, grow and manage a marketing team.
  • Own the marketing budget and the non-marketing team bandwidth for your cross functional pod.
  • Alongside the rest of the executive team, set the company priorities, budget and goals.
  • Design a marketing strategy to achieve the company’s growth goals and find new opportunities to test to unlock sustainable new marketing channels and revenue streams.
  • Significantly expand Wanderu brand awareness and market penetration in its core markets through measurable means.
  • Identify new markets that have strong growth opportunities and develop marketing strategies specific to the uniqueness of those markets.
  • Design and create reporting on the performance of marketing campaigns, their success metrics as well as users lifetime reengagement.
  • Testing of new campaigns, channels and systems to optimize and grow Wanderu’s user base.
  • Collaborate with the Supply team to identify unmet inventory needs based on market demand.
  • Work with the Core Product team to help identify product gaps and opportunities for new features based on user needs.
  • Contribute to executive decisions on how to continually improve Wanderu to be a better business and a better company to work for.

What you’ve got:

  • Ability to set goals for the company and each team member, and empower them to excel and become better contributors.
  • You have led ROI positive marketing programs at consumer companies which are significantly bigger than Wanderu’s current user base.
  • You are well versed in storytelling and selling your vision to the team, executives and partners.
  • You have well proven systems for identifying marketplace demand, user behavior and needs, user personas and key user segments of a product.
  • You excel at strategic thinking, planning and analytical skills. You are creative and balance high-level strategic planning with hands-on execution and reporting.
  • You have a developed process of collaborating and designing specifications for technical teams to execute on your vision.
  • Working experience with SQL or other self-service data tools and languages are big pluses.
  • You have working experience with SEO, Adwords, social media, analytics platforms, mobile acquisition, strategic partnerships and brand marketing executed at a large scale.
  • You are entrepreneurial minded, a leader as well as a doer and a subject matter expert. You like to identify hypotheses, build rapid tests, learn and scale as quickly as possible.
  • You are an expert in project management and delivery across function domains.
