QE Team Lead

The QE Team Lead is a critical role and will be working as part of WANdisco’s test engineering team to deliver releases of our replicated HDFS, Hive, Cloud, SVN, Git and Access Control suite of products. The QE Team Lead will report to the Vice President of Engineering and would be joining our core Fusion Engineering team at our headquarters in San Ramon, California.

Key Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within a Software Development environment required
• Linux experience required
• Fluency in Java strongly preferred
• Ability to write test cases to a high standard
• Experience with Automated Server-side / UI testing and Restful Web services
• Prior experience managing a team of software or quality engineers is a plus
• Proficient English language skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with high scale computing environments such as Hadoop and the public cloud
• Experience in defining and executing formal performance & load tests
• Experience with Jenkins, Gerrit, Jira, Git, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies
• Experience with UI automation libraries such as Selenium Webdriver
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby or Bash
• Experience debugging Java applications

Description

• Manage a small team of Quality Engineers working on manual and automated testing for our products
• Work within an agile Java development team to complete high quality software releases
• Help automate new tests using Java / JUnit and continuous improvement of existing tests
• Testing new features and bug fixes including exploratory testing to uncover edge cases
• Investigate customer-reported issues
• Work closely with product management to understand product requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required
