Interim VP, Decision Support

Job Description

Warbird Consulting Partners actively seeks qualified candidates for an exciting position as Interim VP, Decision Support for a large healthcare system in the West Coast. Reporting to the CFO, the successful candiate will be a key part of the team that will lead the transformation of the Decision Support and Cost Accounting function within the Finance department to drive performance excellence. This person will will lead a team to support company operations and help centralize data and decision making for executive leadership. This leader will lead the system's transition to a mature data-driven decision-making organization by leveraging analytic techniques and data visualization. This person will be a key member of the decision support team and work closely with partners in finance and data architecture to convert data into actionable insights specifically identifying revenue enhancement and cost efficiency opportunities. He/she will be responsible for capital allocation and related reporting, and other financial planning, analysis and modeling to support decision making throughout the system. This position ensures integrity of monthly and annual costing process in collaboration with accounting and operations, oversees service line profitability reporting and other reporting requests and oversees quality assurance review of any proformas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the build out and expansion of the Decision Support team
• Direct, coach, and develop Decision Support team members
• Work closely with the executive team to ensure their needs are being met by Decision Support team
• Partner with business leaders to build actionable plans for driving revenue growth, overcoming business challenges and meeting long term goals
• Assist with goal setting and the development of key performance indicators for measuring success
• Develop strategic reporting framework for analyzing the business, ensuring accountability and tracking business results
• Assist team in analyzing complex data sets to identify trends, meaningful insights and overall business implications
• Ensure timely delivery of reporting and insights and build user-friendly leadership dashboards
• Create executive level reports to support strategic direction or to support proposed changes to strategy

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 10-12 years of experience supporting business decision making with reporting, analysis and strategy
• Healthcare experience in Finance/Decision support on a corporate or system-wide level
• Bachelor s degree in Business, Strategic Planning, Finance, Economics or Statistics required; Master s degree highly preferred
• Skilled people leader with demonstrated ability to select, manage and develop team of analysts
• Extensive experience with aggregating, standardizing, interpreting and modeling data
• Advanced excel and database query skills as well as experience utilizing data warehouse tools
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
