IT Lead Database Engineer - Omaha

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Lead Database Engineer is responsible for the development, performance, integrity, and security of data base systems of the company.  Provide seamless flow of information throughout Warhorse Gaming. Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise. Develops technical solutions to complex problems. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Essential duties and tasks that must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Practices, supports, and maintains the Mission, Vision and Values of WarHorse Gaming, LLC.• Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools.• Design and implement database in accordance to end users’ information needs and views.• Monitor database performance, and conducts regular performance tuning, and optimizes queries for maximum efficiency.• Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data reliability and minimize downtime.• Perform routine maintenance task, such as database backups, index rebuilding, and statistics gathering.• Manage and optimize casino databases to ensure the availability and reliability of critical organizational data.• Apply any coding recommendations and optimizations.• Develop and implement data security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect sensitive information.• Identify and resolve database performance issues, such as slow queries, inefficient indexing, or resource contention.• Provide data management support and training to users.• Conduct database capacity planning to anticipate future storage and performance needs.• Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database systems, including schema, configurations, and standard operating procedures.• Generate regular reports on database performance, usage, and security compliance for management and executive leadership.• Other duties assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education, experience, skills required, equipment used.• Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise. • Develops technical solutions to complex problems. • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment. • Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 8 - 10 yrs. of experience, or a Master's with 6 - 8 yrs. of experience.• Strong knowledge of database management systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance.• Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure.• Familiarity with programming languages API.• Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.• Capable of working under pressure.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel is primarily local during the business day, travel to all Warhorse Gaming properties is required and some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

WORK HOURS: This is a full-time position supporting a 24X7X365 business. Basic days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening, graveyard, weekend, and holiday hours required, based on business need.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Is this position responsible for selling, serving, or distributing alcoholic beverages or do they have comp authority? No

Gaming License Required? Ability to secure and maintain NE Gaming License.

Other Certifications? MCSE, Driver’s License
