SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Warner and Warner Colorado, located in Monte Vista, Colorado, currently has an opportunity for a full-time Service Technician. The qualified candidate would be energetic and positive, with a desire to deliver a high-quality customer service experience and complete tasks to the highest standard. Following a successful training and probationary period, the qualified candidate will be able to service, start up, and repair packaging systems belonging to our customers throughout the San Luis Valley and surrounding areas, as well as provide training in the operation and maintenance of the equipment. Responsibilities include onsite equipment service, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of existing equipment, as well as providing remote support. Professionalism will be paramount to building and maintaining customer relationships.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with onsite new machine installations and upgrades of existing equipment, working from general arrangement drawings and electrical schematics
• Perform mechanical assembly of equipment, 3 phase electrical power and control voltage connections
• Perform mechanical modification when necessary
• Perform equipment software modification when necessary
• Perform diagnostics to find the root cause of mechanical, or electrical issues
• Assist with training customer operation and maintenance personnel
• Provide first-class on-site support for customers requiring routine service, troubleshooting, or emergency breakdown service and determine the root cause of trouble, for existing equipment
• Provide first-class live remote technical support telephonically, via video chat, text message, and other methods, for customers needing assistance
• Provide spare parts assistance and recommendations
• Compile installation or service reports for company and customer records

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Mechanical, and diagnostic experience a must
• Must be able to read mechanical and electrical schematics
• Clean background check and drug test
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50lb

Preferred education and experience:

• Two-year post high school diploma/certificate in electro-mechanical technology (or similar associate/technical degree) desired
• Electrical experience a must, Electrician Journeyman preferred
• Experience with Potato packing equipment maintenance and automation, or installation preferred
• Experience working in potato warehouses or similar areas

Preferred skills and abilities:

• Work proficiently with little to no supervision, or under the direction of a more experience technician
• Knowledge of mechanical, and electrical automation control systems
• Strong mechanical skills and light fabrication may be required. (Metal grinding, cutting, drilling, and tapping)
• Excellent customer communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• High degree of diplomacy
• Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, etc)
• Strong English fluency

Position Notes:

• This is a regular, full-time position with the understanding that a regular workweek sometimes requires extended days and hours as needed to meet our customers' needs. Weekend work is normal when traveling and possible during holidays for Field Service Technicians but avoided if possible.

Work Environment:

• When not in the office, Field Service Technicians work in customer plants. There is exposure to plant elements such as dirt, dust, oil, grease, product residue or ingredient, and ambient heat, humidity, or cold.

Physical Demands:

• Especially when installing or servicing equipment, the employee may be required to climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and greater than 50 pounds with assistance.

Starting Pay structure:

• $18-$26 depending on experience
