The Job
WarnerMedia, Inc. seeks a Financial Analyst of Corporate Finance for HBO Programming.
This position is primarily responsible for forecasting original programming costs for domestic and international HBO in-house and licensed projects (series, mini-series, limited series, and films). The Financial Analyst will be responsible for performing cash and P&L forecasting and variance analysis. He or she will also be responsible for assisting with ad hoc reporting and finance projects as needed.
The Financial Analyst will report to the Financial Analysis Manager.
The Daily
- Prepare cash and P&L budgets and forecasts for all Corporate Finance cycles.
- Update P&L for Long-Range Plan reporting used by Head of Programming for target management.
- Review and report actual performance against plan and identify variance drivers.
- Work cross-functionally with the FP&A and Production Finance teams to gather inputs and understand risks and opportunities to accurately forecast programming costs.
- Load actuals and projections in finance database (Hyperion). Review accounting month-end actuals to ensure accuracy.
- Review and analyze license contracts to determine appropriate accounting policy.
- Evaluate accounting systems, processes, and controls for accuracy; offer recommendations for streamlining and process innovation.
- Work with technology team on system enhancements to optimize reporting and analysis capabilities.
- Maintain and update finance systems, related documentation, and training materials for Corporate Finance team.
The Essentials
- Bachelor's degree with a major in Finance or Accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Finance/Accounting position.
- Prior experience in Film and TV industry highly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Must possess advanced level MS Excel skills and be proficient with accounting/financial software; Ability to analyze information from multiple sources using Excel.
- Knowledge of Hyperion and Oracle preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to manage simultaneous projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
