The Job
As a Product Manager on the Growth Product team at CNN you will be part of the team responsible for driving subscriber growth for CNN , which is CNN’s new direct to consumer video streaming subscription product. Our team works closely with the engineering, product design, analytics and growth marketing teams to develop products and user experiences that drive subscriber engagement and growth throughout the subscriber journey. We are looking for a product manager to help support our acquisition and retention initiatives.
The ideal candidate has an understanding of direct-to-consumer subscription businesses and has experience developing products, features and experiences that drive subscriber growth and engagement. If you have a customer centric mindset, thrive in a collaborative environment, are analytical, data driven and like to solve problems and if you have a bias towards action and getting things done – then this is a great role for you.
The Daily
- Help develop and support the product roadmap for the Growth Product team
- Partner with key stakeholders (especially engineering, design, marketing, research and analytics) to identify growth opportunities across the customer journey and prioritize these opportunities based on user needs, business goals and technical capabilities.
- Work closely with research, data and design to deeply understand customer needs and pain points and use this insight to inform new product features
- Create user stories, manage a backlog and and work closely with our engineering team to ensure they understand product requirements and success criteria for new features
- Lead the ideation for new product features and initiatives, and collaborate with engineering, design, market and data to execute initiatives in a timely fashion
- Communicate product roadmap, rationale for product decisions and progress on product initiatives with stakeholders
- Define and report KPIs for the product/features you are responsible for and use data to drive product decisions.
The Essentials
- 2 years of product management experience
- Experience with product management best practices including techniques for identifying customer needs, hypothesis-driven roadmaps, prototyping, AB testing and user-centered design.
- Understanding of business drivers and user behaviors that support digital subscription growth
- Experience using data, user research and insights to inform product strategies
- Track record of working closely with diverse stakeholders to guide and implement complex initiatives
- Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
