- Must meet all ESEA requirements.
- Paraprofessional Certificate, Associates or higher degree.
- Display ability in interacting with students and staff.
- Ability to physically assist students with impairments including lifting, escorting, and therapeutic physical restraint of students.
- Display empathy and advocacy for students.
- Display skill in working with students on social/emotional goals and objectives.
- Display skill in working with students in academic interventions.
- Possess the ability to provide delegated nursing services to students under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Duties:
- Work under the supervision of the Teacher and/or Intervention Specialist and provide teaching and clerical support.
- Assist classroom teacher in the general supervision of students and class activities as directed.
- Provide individual and small group support to students under the direction of Intervention Specialist and/or Teacher.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned by the Intervention Specialist and/or Teacher.
- Prepare, obtain and maintain student educational materials as directed.
- Communicate with parents, as directed.
- Collect and chart student data as directed.
- Provide attendance services including, but not limited to: delegated nursing services; hall escort/travel; lunch room and playground activities; entering and exiting buses/transportation; restroom/toileting assistance.
- Attending building meetings, workshop and conferences as directed by Intervention Specialist and/or Teacher, Supervisor, Principal.
- Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of The Warren City School Board of Education.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Intervention Specialist and/or Teacher, Principal, Special Education Supervisor, Director of Special Education or designee.
