As a Senior Accounting Assistant, on any given day, you may find yourself:
- Maintaining a chart of accounts
- Preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries to the County financial system and reconciling general ledger account balances; researching and resolving reconciliation issues as necessary.
- Preparing invoices for contracts and receiving and records payments on these contracts.
- Assisting in creating a positive and supportive work environment, and building a culture of teamwork and communication
- Creating a workplace that promotes the organizational values of workplace diversity, equity and inclusion and actively promoting an environment respectful of living and working in a diverse community.
- Providing functional and technical information and instructions regarding applicable procedures and methods.
- Interpreting and explaining rules and regulations
- Maintaining payment and retainage records for contracts.
- Possession of an Associate's Degree in accounting, business, or related field AND two (2) or more years of work experience related to accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal management; OR
- Accounting Certificate (12 months) AND three (3) or more years of work experience related to accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal management; OR
- Five (5) or more years of work experience related to accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal management.
- Must pass a comprehensive background investigation.
