Work Hours
Hours vary but not to exceed 4 hours/week
Role Overview
This is an opportunity for current paraprofessional staff to support the newest paraprofessionals beyond the standard duty day. This initiative serves to develop our paraprofessional staff so they can perform their duties in an effective and efficient manner.
Minimum Requirements
Currently holds a paraprofessional position with WCPS.
Minimum three years of experience in a paraprofessional role.
Demonstrates an eagerness to teach others.
Must have an overall satisfactory performance evaluation for the past three years.
Ability to work extended hours to support paraprofessionals after their duty hours.
Willing to have another paraprofessional shadow your duty day.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
CPI Certification
Additional training in relevant topics.
Minimum three years of experience in a paraprofessional role.
Role Responsibilities
Mentor and coach a current paraprofessional in your program area.
Collaborate with special education supervisors to develop and deliver training resources.

Required periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to sufficiently and efficiently move throughout the building and grounds for extended periods.
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with others as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, and hear in English and Spanish.
Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
Ability to move, raise, lower, and carry objects up to 20 lbs. on an irregular basis.
Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop, reach, and climb.Will be subjected to loud noises, interactions, and traffic flow associated within a highly populated office environment.
