Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Partnerships, the Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure corporate sponsorships and partnerships for the organization. Your primary goal will be to generate revenue through the sale of sponsorship packages, aligning with the company's objectives and enhancing its brand visibility. You will collaborate with internal teams to create compelling sponsorship proposals, negotiate contracts, and build strong, long-lasting relationships with corporate partners.

This position requires a creative, motivated, self-starter who is a competitive, energetic, and dedicated professional with proven sales skills and possesses the independent judgement needed to plan, prioritize, and complete a diverse workload.

Responsibilities:

1. Market Analysis and Research:
• Conduct market research to identify potential sponsors and assess industry trends.
• Analyze competitor sponsorship programs and industry benchmarks.

2. Sponsorship Strategy:
• Develop a comprehensive sponsorship strategy aligned with the organization's goals.
• Identify key target industries and companies for sponsorship opportunities.

3. Proposal Development:
• Collaborate with the marketing and creative teams to create attractive and compelling sponsorship packages.
• Customize proposals based on the needs and objectives of potential sponsors.

4. Sales and Negotiation:
• Proactively reach out to potential sponsors through cold calling, networking, and other sales techniques.
• Conduct presentations and meetings to pitch sponsorship opportunities.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and contractual agreements, closing partnerships with average annual values no less than six figures.

5. Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate sponsors.
• Act as the main point of contact for sponsors, addressing inquiries and concerns.
• Ensure the fulfillment of sponsorship deliverables and obligations.

6. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
• Work closely with the marketing, events, and communications teams to integrate sponsorships seamlessly into the overall marketing strategy.
• Provide input on promotional materials, ensuring they align with sponsor expectations.

7. Performance Tracking and Reporting:
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of sponsorship programs.
• Regularly report on sponsorship revenue, achievements, and challenges to management.

Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field (or equivalent military experience).
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a high energy sales position, preferably sponsorship, premium, or suite sales.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required and light travel, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:

• Minimum three years of experience working with and presenting to senior executives.
• Proven revenue generator with a track-record of achieving annual sales targets.
• Excellent business research and problem-solving skills.
• Strong networking skills and the ability to amass a network of brand and agency contacts.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating contractual terms through execution.
• Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to meet challenging sales objectives in a high profile, competitive marketplace.
• Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and develop strategic activation programs and promotional campaigns.
• Track record of providing exceptional customer-service.

Preferred:

• Master’s Degree or previous formal sales training
• Proficiency in using MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce
• Knowledge and passion for Major League Baseball

Physical/Environmental Requirements:

• Office: Position is expected to report to the office from Monday-Friday. Work may also require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
• Gameday: Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
