Risk Management Division (RMD) is comprised of the Audit, Public Disclosure, and Strategic Planning and Accountability sections. In addition to handling tort responsibilities for the agency, the division also oversees the agency’s internal audit program and serves as the external audit liaison, manages all areas of public records and disclosure issues, ensures agency compliance to state mandates and CALEA standards, and provides Lean program implementation and assistance agency-wide.

Duties

This position operates above the first line of supervision and has a critical role to analyze evolving public records obligations and complex, unprecedented, issues during periods of technology modernization in order to lead three teams’ business process adaptation and interface with internal and external stakeholders. The process changes analyzed and implemented by the person in this position are of significant criminal justice and legal impact statewide and agency-wide. The individual in the position must have strong managerial skills coupled with mastery of complex legal issues, operational imperatives, and technology capabilities.

Our new teammate will be able to:


  • Analyze legal obligations, operational considerations, and technology capabilities to inform business process adaptations.
  • Analyze changing legal mandates, operations and technologies, and develop appropriate adaptations. Draft comprehensive policy revisions, and collaborate with stakeholders to adapt systems and interfaces appropriately.
  • Assist the PRO with the fulfillment of certain public disclosure requests, subpoenas duces tecum/civil discovery, media inquiries and critical incidents referred to independent investigative teams.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, criminal justice, law, or a related field.
    • Relevant experience may be substituted year for year for degree requirement
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Five years experience
