Accounts Payable Analyst

Alaska Waste, a Waste Connections company, is looking for an Accounts Payable Analyst to join our team in Anchorage, AK!

The schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Starting pay will be $24-26 per hour, depending on experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Disbursing all accounts payables, processing vendor invoices and recurring payments on a monthly basis, reviewing and approving all payments within the invoice queue.
• Maintaining the AP PO Log & ensuring payments are on time.
• Vendor maintenance: keeping vendor account statuses current, ensuring contact information is up to date, and completing new vendor setups.
• Reconciling invoices, statements, and reports.
• Responding to Accounts Payable-related audit requests.
• Maintaining accurate records for all relevant activity.
• Completing and submitting credit applications.
• Submitting requests for all Certificates of Insurance.
• Submitting customer refund checks.
• Completing special projects for Controller and/or senior management as assigned.
• Cross-training within the accounting department.
• Responsible for answering multiple email inquiries daily in a professional manner.
• Supporting accounting personnel with Accounts Payable duties, and training as requested.
• Assisting controller team and site leaders with month end processes.
• Assisting in HR related duties such as payroll, booking travel, planning division events, and other projects as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 1 year of employment with Waste Connections.
• Prior experience working with an A/P, G/L integrated software system experience is preferred.
• Meet typing speed of 40 wpm and 10 key by touch.
• Willingness to learn a new system.
• Must possess a good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Good verbal and written communication.
• Strong organization skills.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented.
