What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gas technician position at Waste Connections?
Pay Range : $20-$30 / hr. DOE
Responsibilities include :
- Perform routine system inspections and repairs on the landfill.
- Work with Lead Landfill Gas Technician to ensure compliance.
- Maintain relationships with landfill employees as well as consultants and vendors.
- Using gas analyzer to monitor gas wells and probes.
- Performing maintenance on pneumatic pumps, including the removal of pumps in wells, inspections, and repairs.
- Monitoring the amount of liquid in gas wells.
- HDPE pipe fusion.
Position Requirements :
- 2 years of experience as a gas tech
- Ability to follow established procedures with minimal amount of direct supervision.
- Ability to be coachable and learn how to navigate the landfill in a safe manner.
- Work outdoors for most of the day.
- Maintain a good attitude and a hard work ethic.
- Be willing to perform a variety of tasks on any given day.
- Provide on-call response to gas collection system.
- Experience operating hand and power tools.
- Ability to handle objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to collect data, interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
Ideal candidates will possess :
Experience with leachate collection systems.
