What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer landfill position at Waste Connections?
Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscience Landfill Laborer to join our team in Harper, Kansas.
PAY :
$17 per hour working around 50 hours a week. Every hour after 40 is paid overtime.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Checking trucks in and out of the landfill and directing traffic at site as necessary.
- Manual labor including paper picking, keeping landfill clean and presentable.
- Install temporary wind fences as required.
- Help direct temporary worker team
- Perform general office maintenance and repairs including painting and janitorial work.
- Operating support equipment
- Working outside in all weather conditions.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT :
- Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and / or loud noises
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.
- Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise
- One year of stable employment history in a similar environment.
