POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Training Administrator
Department: H&S (Training)
Reports To: Training Manager
Location: Andrews, Tx Worksite Facility
Summary
Assists with planning, coordinating, and directing training and staff development programs for WCS; This position reports directly to the Training Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Administers the training database for employee training records, for each department and job description;
Maintains employee training folders, contractor training records, and employee training
qualifications;
Assists the Training Manager in coordinating and scheduling employee training;
Creates and maintains reports of employee training qualifications, annual refresher training,
and contractor training records and qualifications;
Ensures that all contractor training is updated annually;
Creates training certificates;
Maintains employee training files and employee ID numbers;
Reviews Texas Department of Health and Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations
for updates on current training requirements and new training requirements for the future; Contact person for DOE, TCEQ and various other WCS site audits regarding training;
Organizes and develops training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation
procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Must possess strong organization skills and highly developed verbal and written communication skills including composition and grammar. Must possess the ability to work with senior managers to develop complex documents in a time constrained environment. Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented, interpret requirements, utilize Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software programs. Must have knowledge of conventional administrative practices. Must be able to multi-task.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of two years office or administrative related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. General computer proficiency using Microsoft Office.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability
to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software;
Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Other Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of correspondence, report preparation, office practices and procedures; ability
to plan, assign, coordinate work, maintain complex records and to prepare routine and special reports; detail
oriented.
