Description
The primary role of the Tire Technician is to be responsible for comprehensive tire maintenance and coordination of third-party contractors associated with tire repairs; to gain a more in-depth knowledge and understanding of both the operational and administrative responsibilities and implement plans to support operational teams.
Essential Duties:
- Fully understand the fleet of equipment and capable of changing tires on all equipment.
- Coordinate all preventative, predictive and unforeseen tire repairs or coordinate third party contractors with SAFETY and ENVIRONMENT being the highest priorities.
- Coordinate contractors / 3rd party vendors for large equipment tire repair or replacement.
- Must be available and flexible to work all shifts as business needs require.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Routine communication and coordination with other corporate departments.
- Complete all applicable documentation and recordkeeping.
- Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong maintenance background with experience with tire handling, changing and associated tire maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills for a multifaceted work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication.
- E-maint software experience is a plus.
- Detail oriented and customer focused.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers.
- Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge, above the minimum requirements.
- Must satisfactory qualify/obtain a TWIC card.

- Must be able to see well enough to read gauges, precision measuring instruments, schematics, maintenance manuals as needed.
- Must be able to talk and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors and others within the company 100% of the time.
- Must be able to reach with arms and hands to perform inspection, maintenance and repair duties when needed.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat 100%.
- Must be able to use hands/fingers to grasp, handle, and feel 100%.
- Must be able to climb and balance well enough to mount equipment by climbing up and down steps as needed.
- Must be able to work from elevated and/or tight locations.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

- PPE; hard hat, vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel toed boots
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee will be exposed to moderate noise level; moving mechanical parts, moving machinery, outside weather conditions and elements; fumes from gasoline, oil and grease.
