Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

The Company

Water Resources owns and provides services to a family of self-performing general contractors in the civil sector of construction.  These companies perform work in the Upper Midwest and Mountain West regions of the United States from offices in Deerwood, MN, Monticello, MN, Golden, CO, Fargo, ND, and Watertown, SD.

Primary Function

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for managing the information Technology (IT) operations and controls of the organization, including applications, training, and coordinating with managed services providers.  The CTO must work closely with other departments and the executive team to align the company's use of IT with its strategic goals.  This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Knowledge Requirements

• Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role. 
• Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy. 
• Understanding of budgets and business planning. 
• Ability to conduct technological analyses and research.

Education, Licensing, and Professional Certification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.  Certifications in relevant technology and tools is a plus.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT systems management and support.
• Strong knowledge of business applications, including ERP, CRM and HR systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and part of a team.
• Familiarity with managed service providers and outsourcing processes.
• Experience in developing and delivering training materials and workshops.
