Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Patient Services Representative works in a team-based, patient-centered dental clinic serving insured and uninsured clients with a special emphasis on care for persons who experience barriers to accessing care due to income, language, cultural, and social barriers. The Patient Service Representative role includes registration, scheduling, and any additional processes which serve to remove barriers to care for Waterfall patients.
Duties:
- Adhere to the spirit of Waterfall Community Health Center to remove barriers to care and our mission statement while performing assigned duties.
- Demonstrate the core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Compassion, Partnership, and Collaborative Communication.
- Ensure new and existing patients’ registration and scheduling needs are met.
- Assist new and existing patients with completing the paperwork necessary to create and maintain active patient registration status.
- Complete appropriate forms and enter patient information into the EPIC/WISDOM EHR system.
- Collect patient fees.
- Field phone calls regarding appointment cancellations, and any other patient concerns.
- Answer high-volume calls in a timely manner and direct calls to appropriate staff.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Other related duties may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Education and/or Experience and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in a dental clinic, customer service role, or public relations preferred.
- Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention Comprehensive training class completed within 6 months of hire and recertify prior to the expiration date.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) EPIC/WISDOM preferred.

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working at a computer.
- Able to lift 15 pounds occasionally.
- Able to travel as needed.
Medical and Vision: Both plans are 100% company paid for the employee

Personal Time Off (PTO). This is a combined benefit for vacation and/or illness. Salaried employees earn 5.56 hours per pay period.
- 0 – 60 months of service = 144 hours per year/18 days

Semi-Annual Retention bonus
- Opportunity to earn up to 2% of your annual income twice per year as a bonus. One bonus will be given in November and the other in May. This will be (3) yes or no questions based on goals you make with your supervisor. There is an individual goal, a department goal, and a company goal.
