Dry Dock Supervisor

• Lead a crew of up to eight people, providing guidance, direction, and support as needed.
• Manage major barge repair jobs, including ordering steel and materials, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely completion of work.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and in compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the Shipyard Manager and Barge Repair Coordinator to prioritize and schedule repair jobs.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
• Assist in training and development of crew members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency and productivity.
• Safety: Strictly adhere to safety guidelines, procedures, and industry regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors.
• Emergency Response: Respond quickly and appropriately to any emergency situations.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
• Extensive knowledge of barges and experience in barge repair.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and completing major repair projects.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in related fields a plus.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
• Must have knowledge of OSHA shipyard standards.
• Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, often in adverse weather conditions.
• Good hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

• This position will require working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• The role may involve irregular hours and on-call duty for emergencies.
