What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Detailer / Lot Attendant position at Watertown Ford?
Automobile Dealership looking for a qualified person to clean and prep new and preowned vehicles for delivery, maintain inventory on lot, handle light mechanical repairs, keep track of cleaning supplies and move vehicles between different locations. Some of the daily tasks are:
Wash vehicle exterior, clean interior and exterior windows and wipes down doorjambs.
Apply wax to auto body, and wipe or buff surface.
Complete the Armorall SmartShield training and apply it to vehicles in accordance to the Armorall guidelines.
Vacuum interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
Clean upholstery, rugs and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators and cleaning devices.
Apply revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treat fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
Clean engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents.
Apply special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following product manufacturer's recommendations.
Inspect vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery and poor mechanical operation.
Restore appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery and painted surfaces. Use touch-up paint, dyes and other appropriate materials.
Use proper eye, hand and body protection when using products that require protection.
Fill vehicle with fuel.
Apply dressing on tires and tire wells.
Replace missing or defective small parts.
Maintain stock vehicles in clean and presentable condition.
Ensure proper stickers are displayed in the vehicle's window.
Remove all window stickers on sold vehicles.
Keep work area neat and clean.
Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Drive vehicles to other dealerships, up fitters and customers.
Other tasks as assigned.
Must have a valid Driver's License, be insurable, responsible, on time and pass a drug screening.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
