Overview
Summary: The Director of Diamond Kote Building Products reports directly to the COO and is responsible for overseeing multiple manufacturing sites with a primary focus to coordinate the people and processes involved in all aspects of finishing and manufacturing. This individual will drive continuous improvement and ensure that production meets output and quality requirements and goals, while remaining within budget guidelines. A strong foundation in manufacturing systems and processes, supply chain management, quality controls, safety, and project management is required to bring all phases of production into alignment with company goals. The Director of DKBP is chiefly responsible for safety, productivity, quality, and cost control.
Responsibilities
Duties to include (not limited to):
- Develop, evaluate and audit manufacturing processes
- Develop, implement, and maintain best practices and SOP
- Develop and maintain vendor relations
- Develop, maintain, report, and improve on capacity and productivity standards
- Develop work schedules to ensure product demand is met
- Develop, maintain, report, and improve on quality standards
- Set and maintain operational budgets, to include staffing requirements
- Review and approve supply and material expenditures
- Collaborate with COO and Director of Engineering to develop capital expenditure requirements and projections to ensure related projects are implemented on time and on budget
- Develop and mentor direct reports to ensure succession needs
- Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure recruitment, onboarding, training, evaluating, and discharging compliance
- Lead, audit, and support safety programs
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Qualifications
A WSC Director of DKBP will possess and/or demonstrate the ability to:
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, across the enterprise
- Improve production, reduce costs, and successfully drive organizational change
- Implement proven problem solving methods and statistical tools
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet expected goals on time

Education / Experience:
- Minimum BS degree in Business Management, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Technology, or closely-related discipline
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience in manufacturing (building materials a strong plus)
- ASQ certification as Certified Six Sigma Black Belts very desirable, but not required.
- Experience implementing Lean and Six Sigma strongly preferred, but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of management experience
- Results driven leader
- Statistical analysis development
Working Demands / Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Travel up to 30%
