Corporate Director of Resident Engagement

Overview:
Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of the Therapeutic Recreation, Pastoral Care, and Volunteers’ Departments, and other events that provide resident engagement across the full continuum. Provides residents with productive and enjoyable activities which will encourage feelings of satisfaction and accomplishment. Supervises personnel and as necessary assures DPH guidelines and regulations are met.

Responsibilities:
· Oversees the planning, directing, and coordination of the activities of Therapeutic Recreation, Pastoral Care, and Volunteer Departments in the Waveny LifeCare continuum.

· Creates an innovative strategy of resident engagement focusing on the changing needs of the residents.

· Engages local performing arts professionals, schools, clubs, and performers to donate their talents to providing enriching engagements with our patients, clients, residents, and visitors.

· Responsible for supervision of the personnel in the Therapeutic Recreation, Pastoral Care, and Volunteer Departments of the Waveny LifeCare continuum.

· Keeps abreast of changes in the field.

Experience:

· Career accomplishments in either Theatre or Music,

· Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, or related Performing Arts; minimum of 5 years of management experience,

· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with residents, staff, and families,

· Proven ability to work independently, and effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team,

· Appropriate communication skills – oral, written, and engaged listening; and,

· Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed.
