Position Objective
This position brings the spirit of hospitality and excellence in customer service to
every private event hosted at the Land and Sea Dept. venue inside the Thompson Austin. This role
will focus on sales and lead management, with an eye towards growth possibilities within different
industries and business sectors. The Events Manager will be tasked with making the most of our
spaces and will be expected to be creative and innovative in all event execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Send monthly revenue recaps and projections to appropriate Directors and departments
● Create and maintain guest-facing sales materials (print, digital) with art department
● Develop and follow F&B minimums, beverage packages, and food menus in coordination
with department leads
● Answer all leads within 48 hours M-F (Alongside Director of Events)
● Attend all weekly meetings - Host weekly BEO meeting
● Guest liaison regarding pickup of materials, coordinating deliveries, communicating with
hotel receiving department for lost and found
● Develop marketing strategies with PR and marketing teams
● Ensure the Tripleseat calendar is updated and accurate, including hotel programming and
exterior events that affect sales (conventions, festivals, big concerts)
● Ensure guest liaison and presence from the sales team at the start of each event
● Familiarity with other venues in the hotel
● Flex Events Dept Schedule when necessary to ensure a presence during major events /
high volume days
● Generate and develop new event business
● Guest liaison for site visits for new and prospective clients
● Lead weekly BEO meeting with appropriate management in attendance
● Maintain a positive relationship with hotel sales team
● Nurture existing partnerships for repeat business
● Outreach and marketing for new business recruitment
● Oversee communication of BEOs to BOH and FOH operations managers
● Oversee Event Coordinator (when applicable) and manage department with support from
Director of F B
● Oversee finalization of events with appropriate documents / contracts
● Assist management during service as needed, floor manage during events
● Assist management with administrative projects such as recipe printing
● Work with operations managers and LSD Director of Events to ensure coordination of
events utilizing multiple hotel spaces
● Must be able to lift 40 lbs and be comfortable standing for long periods of time
